Location: Dukinfield Town Hall, King Street, Dukinfield, SK16 4LA
Salary Grade: Grade H: £32,029 to £36,876 with a profession bar at SCP 31 **
You will be provided with an ideal opportunity to work in an active and integrated planning and building control office where the work is both varied and challenging.
You will be involved in a wide range of duties, gaining experience working on residential schemes and commercial industrial projects. You will also be part of the Council’s “Emergency on Call” provision for which additional payments will be provided.
You will have a helpful and positive approach to dealing with customers together with flexibility to undertake a wide variety of building control work including dealing with dangerous buildings and demolition control. You should possess a recognised professional qualification e.g. RICS together with the knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.
A full and current driving licence is essential. This post is also a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English in the person specification

On appointment you will be paid the starting salary for the grade, and progress to the maximum salary for the grade through the council’s annual increment process. In cases where an individual can evidence that their existing salary, in a relevant role to which they are being appointed is higher than the starting salary, then a higher salary within the grade salary range may be considered in accordance with the Council’s pay framework. Individuals appointed above the starting salary for the grade, but not at the maximum salary, will then be subject to the annual increment process until they reach the maximum.
