About the role
Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit 3x Nuclear Repair Welders.
You will carry out welding activities on all plant system pipework on submarines and shore based installations.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with exposure to a unique environment.
Completion of all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and nuclear implicated work to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business.
Identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of HMNB Clyde Submarines, Surface Vessels and the Estate.
Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.
What do I need to do the role?
You’ll need to hold a recognised fabrication/welding Apprenticeship to at least N/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have gained at least a National Certificate and have previous welding experience, including significant experience of pipe welding.
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
* Experience of MMA process and proficient at TIG welding on small-bore pipework encompassing Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels and Copper Nickels, previous experience of working with maintenance technical instructions, welding procedures and acceptance standards
* Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
* Experience of FCAW and Mechanised welding would be advantageous.
* CSWIP 3.0 and PCN LPI lev 2 qualified is desirable but not compulsory.
* Experience of utilising Work to Risk, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
