Applications are invited for the above post to provide exceptional reception support, to the busy research focused Michael Smith Building at the University of Manchester. You will work as part of an established team to facilitate the day-to-day management of the reception areas and provide a professional first point of contact for staff, students and visitors to the Faculty.
Although primarily situated on the Michael Smith Building reception, you will also be involved with the running of the AV Hill Building reception desk and will be flexible with regards to working (potentially at short notice) on other receptions based within the Wider Faculty of Biology Medicine and Health (FBMH).
Our reception team are responsible for ensuring that secure building access is maintained, exercising judgement in providing controlled access and dealing with problems as they arise in a professional and helpful manner. You will have significant experience working on a busy reception desk within HE or an NHS environment, and will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work calmly and professionally when under pressure.
Reception staff are required to wear a name badge and uniform.
